By Martin Booth  Thursday Feb 25, 2021

A new dating show on Sky One marks the television comedy debut of rising Bristol star, Abi Clarke.

Dating No Filter, which begins on Thursday at 10pm, sees a host of comedians providing commentary as members of the public head out on blind dates across the country.

As well as Abi, other comedians teaming up in pairs to spectate the dates include Daisy May Cooper, Josh Widdicombe and Munya Chawawa.

Abi, who lives in Henbury, has found fame over lockdown with her viral videos on social media – with 14.6m likes of her videos on TikTok.

Some of her most characters include office colleagues Jill and Tracey, while the 24-year-old often ropes in her mum Julia and dad Paul for her videos.

On Dating No Filter, Abi teams up with fellow comedian and TikTok sensation, Maddy Lucy Dann, who is also an A&E doctor.

The pair became friends via social media and met each other in real life for the first time on the day of the filming.

Abi said: “Thank you so much to everyone involved, especially those who trusted us unknown, newbie, mad kids and gave us the incredible opportunity to do what I’ve always wanted… give unsolicited dating advice and judge from afar.”

The Sky promotional blurb says: “The comedy duos will watch and weigh in on the dates, giving hysterically unfiltered observations on every awkward interaction and heart-warming moment as they root for love to conquer all!

“The singletons will be treated to a range of activities to try to break the ice; from axe throwing and ballroom dancing, to pole dancing and a visit to a goat farm!”

Daisy May Cooper, who stars in This Country, said: “I cannot tell you the amount of times Susie and I have been sat in Wetherspoons pissed on Pinot analysing other people’s cringey Tinder dates. Now we’re getting paid for it. Honestly can’t believe it.”

Susan Wokoma added: “It’s absolutely criminal to call laughing at dates with my closest pal Daisy, work! I can’t wait for everyone to watch us crying with hysterics at the weird world of dating.”
