Belly Laughs At Home to raise money for four Bristol good causes

By Martin Booth  Tuesday Apr 28, 2020

Normally taking place in restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars across Bristol, the next instalment of Belly Laughs will be held in the comfort of your own living room.

Belly Laughs At Home will be a night of Bristol-based comedy raising money for four good causes.

The live-streamed lockdown entertainment on Sunday, May 10 will see Mark Olver bring together the likes of Russell Howard, Jon Richardson, Jayde Adams and more.

The evening will be celebrating Bristol while raising money for FareShare South West, Great Western Air Ambulance, Julian Trust and Bristol Old Vic.

Previous Belly Laughs shows have taken place in venues including Hart’s Bakery

Olver said: “We do stuff in that area where food, comedy and doing good stuff for others meets.

“We’re known most for our January gigs but the world’s gone a little bit crazy right now and I think Belly Laughs At Home could be the antidote to that – for a couple of hours anyway.

“I’m always blown away by people’s generosity at these events and am sure we can raise some money for these great causes whilst having a bit of a laugh at the same time.”

Audience members are being asked to make a donation of at least £4 before watching the gig live, and are also being encouraged to order a takeaway from their favourite Bristol independent business.
