Belly Laughs expands into three cities for 2023

By Sarski Anderson  Thursday Nov 10, 2022

The runaway success of Mark Olver’s January charity fundraiser – last year raising £22k for FareShare South West and the Julian Trust, has led Belly Laughs to announce an expansion.

In 2023, the initiative will be hosted in Bath and Birmingham as well as Bristol, with multiple comedy/dining events set to take place across the respective cities.

As well as a chance to see local talent and TV name comics up close in intimate and unusual spaces, the programme offers a welcome boost to the hospitality industry in a time of year when it can be harder to get people through the door.

Tickets are already on sale for various packages in Bath, with participating venues to date ranging from Kingsmead Street Bottle to Bandook, Sugarcane Studio to Newton Farm Shop and The Coconut Tree to The Centurion Hotel.

Venues signed up to host Belly Laughs events in Birmingham include KILO ZIRO, The Rainbow, Hockley Social Club, Birmingham Brewing Company, Drop Shot and 1000 Trades.

The lineup for the initiative’s home city has yet to be announced, although if past years are anything to go by, Olver will have more than a few surprises and special guests up his sleeve.
