Award-winning comedian, actress and proud Bristolian, Jayde Adams is the latest act announced for the inaugural Bristol Comedy Festival, closing out the festival which takes place from Sunday to January 25.

The much-anticipated festival will celebrate comedy in all its forms, featuring more than 100 events, performances and workshops across the city.

Her show on January 25 at Dareshack on Wine Street will see her trial new material and promises to be a highlight of the two-week comedy extravaganza, which will also feature performances from Helen Bauer, Mark Watson, Tom Rosenthal and many more.

Jayde said: “It’s about time Bristol got its own comedy festival. Bristol isn’t just one of the coolest cities in the UK – it’s THE coolest (don’t @ me).

“I’m thrilled to be performing in the very first festival, but honestly, I’m just as excited about gigging 10 minutes up the road from my house.

“And yes, I’ll be bringing my DJ skills for later on as well – Bristol deserves nothing less.”

Burt Williamson, Bristol Comedy Festival co-founder, said: “Having Jayde Adams headline our festival is a testament to the talent Bristol nurtures. Her journey from local performer to household name mirrors what we aim to achieve in creating opportunities for comedians and bringing world-class acts to Bristol venues.”

Vicky Lee, director of Bristol City Centre BID, said: “The Bristol Comedy Festival is an exciting new addition to Bristol’s vibrant cultural scene, perfectly showcasing the city’s creativity, diversity, and comedic spirit.

“The festival has attracted some great talent and it will be a great way to laugh our way through the first month of winter and support the city’s venues and hospitality sector.”
