Kiri Pritchard-Mclean brings her experience of fostering to the standup stage

By Sarski Anderson  Wednesday Jul 24, 2024

Multi-award-winning Welsh standup Kiri Pritchard-Mclean has been firmly in the ascendant in recent years, with multiple broadcasting, directing, writing, performing and hosting credits to her name alongside her comedy success.

She is also the co-host (with Rachel Fairburn) of cult true crime podcast, All Killa No Filla, and the Little Wander fashion and style podcast Who Are You Wearing?, as well as the director of sketch troupe Tarot.

Her online shows Live From the Covid Arms during the Covid-19 pandemic broke records for the world’s largest online pub, with over 6,000 patrons – raising over £150,000 for The Trussell Trust and foodbanks in the process.

Kiri Pritchard-Mclean, Peacock

Pritchard-Mclean’s critically acclaimed fourth solo standup tour Peacock is, by some distance, her biggest to date, with six months of performances the length and breadth of the UK – including a night at Bristol Old Vic on September 1.

The subject matter reveals a whole new side to the star, diving deep into the previously untold story of her and her partner’s decision to become foster parents – specifically delivering short-term respite care to children and young people.

As she travels around the country on tour, the comic is collecting for the charity Pens for Kids, delivering pens and pencils to children around the world.

Kiri Pritchard-Mclean: Peacock is at Bristol Old Vic on September 1 at 7.30pm. Check www.bristololdvic.org.uk for ticket availability.
