Maisie Adam to perform new tour show on consecutive nights in Bristol
Widely recognised not only for her jokes but for her love of football and her ever-changing hair, it’s hard to fathom that rural Yorkshire-born standup Maisie Adam began her comedy career relatively recently.
Her debut solo hour, Vague (2018) came on the back of winning the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny? competition the previous summer, when she was only 23.
It was followed by Hang Fire (2019) and Buzzed (2022), as well as a host of TV and radio appearances including QI, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You, Mock The Week, The News Quiz, Fighting Talk, The Last Leg, Live At The Apollo, Hypothetical, A League of Their Own and Would I Like To You?
is needed now More than ever
Along with fellow comic Suzi Ruffell, Adam is now a year in to presenting the award-winning weekly podcast championing women’s football, Big Kick Energy, which recently visited Bristol for a special live show at The Folk House.
And she is now on tour herself, with her fourth standup show, Appraisal, which will be coming to the 1532 Performing Arts Centre for two nights on September 26.
It’s “the ultimate performance review,” she says. “See you at the appraisal; kindest regards!”
Maisie Adam: Appraisal is at 1532 Performing Arts Centre on September 26-27 at 7.30pm. Check www.chucklebusters.com for ticket availability.
