Mike Wozniak to headline Heli Laughs, the annual Great Western Air Ambulance Charity fundraiser
Entirely reliant on volunteers and public donations, Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) provides on-site critical care in Bristol, Gloucestershire, Bath and the surrounding areas – an area of 2.1 million people.
So far in 2023 they have embarked on 1,122 missions, with an average of +5 critically ill or injured patients treated daily. This represents an overall increase on 2022 numbers, with summer operations as busy as the charity has ever been.
Returning to Bristol Old Vic following the success of last year’s event, the stand-up fundraiser Heli Laughs will take place on September 7, with 100 per cent of ticket sales going to keep GWAAC operational.
is needed now More than ever
The event will be headlined by comedian and actor Mike Wozniak, who stole the show in Taskmaster (Channel 4) 2021, and has recently been announced as the assistant to Rose Matafeo in the forthcoming Junior Taskmaster.
Fresh from winning Best New Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival 2023, creator of The Comedian’s Comedian podcast Stuart Goldsmith returns as host of the night.
And the bumper lineup will be completed by rising local comics Dani Johns and Julia Stenton, and regular TV names, Steve Bugeja (Buffering; Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central), and Welsh and Spanish comedian Ignacio Lopez (Live at the Apollo; Celebrity Pointless).
Heli Laughs is at Bristol Old Vic on September 7 at 7.30pm, and tickets are available at www.bristololdvic.org.uk. Follow Great Western Air Ambulance Charity @gwaac.
