Avon Valley welcomes back The Grinch for Christmas 2024
Following successful previous appearances at both Christmas, and – believe it or not – Easter, The Grinch has returned once more to Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park, taking up residence in his very own grotto for a brand-new show this season.
For those who like their Christmas characters a little less cynical, there is also a Santa show, replete with a golden ticket to select a gift from the toy factory.
The miniature railway has been transformed into the Elf Express, looping around before visiting Santa’s SMS (that’s Santa’s messaging service) where visitors can make reindeer food to take home.

Also laid on for December, the magical forest is a light trail to music that weaves around the park, past a number of pop-up food outlets, from smores to gingerbread making and mulled wine.
For skating fans, a temporary ice rink has been installed, open through the day and into the evening, adjacent to an apres-ski bar.

And for visitors after dark, a series of Christmas Nights are set to open the doors to a bit more Christmassy magic.
To avoid disappointment, it’s worth checking exactly what your ticket covers, because there’s a lot happening, and not all of it all of the time. Dog owners, for example, may want to wait until December 22, when a Santa Paws day will see canines, in costumes, invited to meet the big man in red.
