Bristol New Music Festival returns for 10th anniversary
A city-wide, multi-venue festival of contemporary music and sound returns to mark its tenth anniversary.
The fifth installation of Bristol New Music will take place from April 25 to 28, with the first wave of acts announced, including Japanese composer and visual artist Ryoji Ikeda, American polymath Lonnie Holley, Elaine Mitchener and The Bug (in Dub).
The lineup features a variety of international and national names, including London’s Klein, leading contemporary music ensemble Apartment House, Berlin-dwelling Australian artist Jules Reidy.

Scottish free improv vocalist Maggie Nicols, sound artist Kathy Hinde, Josephine Foster, Danish four-piece Selvhenter and composer, bassist and UK jazz lynchpin Ruth Goller also feature in the first lineup announcement.

Bristol artist and composer, costume designer and performance artist Sarahsson will be performing at The Mount Without in collaboration with contemporary dance collective Impermanence.
The venues involved in this year’s festival include: Bristol Beacon, St George’s Bristol, Spike Island, Strange Brew, The Mount Without, The Cube,Victoria Rooms.
More artists, concerts, screenings and talks are yet to be announced.
