Farmfest releases 2022 lineup

By Sarski Anderson  Tuesday Mar 15, 2022

Farmfest has announced its music lineup for 2022, with a raft of acts from diverse musical genres on the bill.

Headlining for Farmfest’s 15th year will be the genre-defying Bristolian dance trio Elder Island, beloved underground-electronic hero Joy Orbison, and the chaotic energy of festival favourites, Gentlemen’s Dub Club.

The rest of the bill includes DJs Jamz Supernova, Channel One and DJ Fett Burger; Nottingham post-punks Do Nothing, jazz producer Pete Cunningham’s Ishmael Ensemble, and Soweto, South Africa’s BCUC.

Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, Mr Bongo, Mafalda and Poly-Ritmo will be soundtracking the dancefloor with their global-inflected soul/disco.

Also appearing are Sinkane, The Mauskovic Dance Band, Pip Blom, Sophie Hunger, Broken Bass, Penelope Isles, Too Many T’s, Agbeko and Plastic Mermaids.

And on the decks, Ivan Smagghe & Chez De Milo, Grove, Joe (Hessle Audio), Worm Soundsystem, Admin and Sam Bhok will be entertaining the revellers until late.

The Bruton-based event, which takes place on July 29-30, is well-loved for its intimate and inclusive feel, capping numbers at 5,000.

Alongside the music, there will be plenty of opportunities to relax in the Kanga Spa and Wellness retreat; early morning workouts, comedy, and poetry.

Children can unleash their creativity in Kids Kingdom, dig in the monster sandpit, participate in workshops, play on the inflatables and giant slip and slides, and immerse themselves in the eclectic mix of musical styles at play around the site.

Tim Manville, Farmfest festival director, is effusive about the eclectic mix of music and arts in the 2022 programme. “The last few years have taught us how fragile life can be,” he says, “and so we’re throwing everything we have at making Farmfest 2022 the best show ever.

“We would like to personally thank all those that have supported us over the years, especially in 2021, and tell you with some confidence that this year is not to be missed!”

Farmfest is in Bruton, Somerset, on July 29-30. For more information including the full line up, limited tickets and directions, visit www.farmfestival.co.uk.
