Preview: Farmfest 2017

By Heidi Wort  Monday Jul 17, 2017

On Friday, July 28 and Saturday, July 29, Bruton in Somerset will be invaded by five thousand thrill-seekers ready to sample the delights of Farmfest 2017.

Despite being conscientiously bijou, the line-up smashes together some big names in local, national and global talent, especially considering the super reasonable £89 final release ticket price.

During an in tents (sorry) 48 hours, Farmfest’s seven stages will be graced with party vibes of all shapes and sizes, – so whether you’re into hip-hop or indie, funk or psychedelia, disco or dub, they’ve got you covered. I’m eyeballing North African-influenced jazz-punk outfit Melt Yourself Down as a potential highlight – you heard it here first.

I’m also hyped to see some Bristol’s This Is The Kit, Goan Dogs, True Strays and Cousin Kula and I’ll be heading to the Shapes takeover stage for a wedge of house and techno from Actress, Or:La and Max Graef. All this sonic wonder will build to the gargantuan headliners Shobaleader One and Roots Manuva.

If I find a second free, I’ll be throwing myself a bunch of brilliant comedy, crafts and workshops. Can’t bloody wait. See you there.

Farmfest 2017 takes place over Friday, July 28 and Saturday, July 29, Bruton in Somerset. For more information, tickets and the full lineup, head over to www.farmfestival.co.uk
