Ravers2Runners to host run outside Love Saves The Day site a day before official opening

By Miles Arnold  Friday May 17, 2024

A charity run by a team of socially conscious ravers are offering festival fans the chance to have a look around the perimeter of the site of this year’s Love Saves The Day the day before the festival officially opens its doors to the public – but there’s a catch.

Ravers2Runners (R2R) are a Bristol based charity, with an aim to encourage exercise and promote its benefits within the dance music community, which often has a reputation for less than healthy lifestyle choices.

The charity is running a series of activations throughout the festival season, at festivals local, national and international, ranging from Love Saves The Day to October’s Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE).

The Bristol leg of the campaign sees R2R get a sneak peak to Love Saves The Day a day before the general public are allowed to have a look around. Those who purchase tickets will join fellow ravers on Friday evening in a 5km run around the outer perimeter of the 30,000 capacity site and the surrounding Ashton Court Estate, before taking a quick sneak peak inside and enjoying light refreshments and a festival soundtrack to get festival goers in the mood for the weekend ahead.

Money from ticket sales goes directly towards Team Love’s Big Team CIC initiative – an organisation that aims to support those looking to start a career in the events industry who come from typically underrepresented backgrounds.

R2R’s founder, Jo Bryan Smith, says the aim is to “help millions of ravers from around the world become healthier and happier through exercise. Our mission is to create non-judgemental, music-oriented runs and running events, helping ‘ravers’ become fitter and healthier – whether they want to continue partying or not.”

Tickets for the event are available on Headfirst, and more information about the organisation and their other events can be found via their website.
