Luca Guadagnino’s widely acclaimed tennis drama Challengers knocked Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black off the top spot after two weeks with a £1.6m opening that’s a UK career best for the director. In third place, Kung Fu Panda 4 recorded a small increase in takings and is now on course to become the biggest hit of the franchise. Spy X Family Code: White, whose title presumably means something to enthusiasts, was the second of two new entries in the top ten, enjoying a strong opening for an anime title. In its ninth week on release, Dune: Part II remains the biggest hit of 2024, and is slowly making its way up the UK all-time chart.
