Deadpool & Wolverine is now up to £43 million and ranks as the second biggest hit of the year, behind Inside Out 2. But the marvel superhero flick was deposed from the top of the chart by critic-proof It Ends With Us, which seems to have revived the fortunes of the soapy romantic drama genre. There were two other new entries in the top five: M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap, which opened more strongly than his previous two films, Old and Knock at the Cabin, and Eli Roth’s poorly received sci-fi action comedy video game adaptation Borderlands. At the foot of the chart, this week’s Sam Raimi Spider-Man reissue, Spider-Man 2, added another £200,000 to its tally. Spider-Man 3 will be along next week.
