Sony continues to flog a dead franchise with Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, whose £4m opening was slightly up on the previous two films: 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife and 2016’s Ghostbusters reboot. That meant Dune: Part II slipped into second place after three weeks at the top, but the sequel’s cumulative £30m haul places it well ahead of the first film and it should soon be climbing up the UK all-time chart too. Last weekend’s highest new entry, Drive-Away Dolls, disappeared altogether after suffering a dramatic 70% drop in takings, but two new horror flicks turned up in the top ten: nunsploitation flick Immaculate and Late Night with the Devil – a superior ‘found footage’ spooker.
