Three new entries at the top of the chart this week. Charming DreamWorks animation The Wild Robot grabbed the top spot ahead of horror sequel Smile 2, with Ali Abbasi’s Donald Trump drama The Apprentice taking third place. All this new release activity knocked Transformers One back to fourth place with a 60% drop in takings. The underperforming Joker: Folie à Deux, meanwhile, was bumped out of the top five in its third week on release by low-budget horror threequel Terrifier 3. The Substance continues to hold up well at number eight and will shortly overtake Priscilla to become distributor MUBI’s highest grossing film at the UK box office. At the foot of the chart, anime sequel My Hero Academia: You’re Next opened ahead of event cinema ballet Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
