Bristol Crocodile film surfaces online
Does the ‘Bristol Crocodile’ exist? Multiple news reports, local and national, over the last decade or so, have claimed eyewitness sightings.
The Bristol24/7 film department also heard a (possibly apocryphal) story that the sightings from 2014 onwards were due to pranksters having fun with a film prop.
But rather like the alleged feral chickens of Southville, it’s one of those yarns that refuses to go away.
is needed now More than ever
Now filmmaker Lucy Rowe and a team of young creatives from boomsatsuma have come up with a light-hearted short drama loosely inspired by the myth.
The Bristol Crocodile tells the story of Jeremy, a hapless hack on the verge of being fired, whose obsession with the croc leads to an unlikely friendship with young vlogger Eva, 40 years his junior, who has also developed a fascination with the mysterious critter. They soon join forces to hunt down this toothy beast.
The film was recently premiered at the Curzon Cinema in Clevedon and has now been made available on YouTube for everyone to watch.
A crowdfunder has also now been launched.
Any funds raised will be used to cover production costs, future screening events, and to support Lucy and the team’s efforts in applying for short film festivals around the UK, Europe and beyond.
