Bristol director’s ‘darkly gripping’ short film released online
Bristol director Paul Holbrook’s latest short film is now available online, after garnering critical acclaim.
Hollow, which premiered online on Saturday, follows a grieving single mother as she seeks revenge against the man who killed her child. Struggling to find strength, she seeks guidance from her local vicar, a man on the edge.
It’s been described as “a story of rage, revenge and redemption”, and “darkly gripping”.

Hollow features actors Laura Bayston and Karl Collins, and was written and directed by Paul, who said he felt the film was his best work yet.
Speaking about the film online, he said: “The first 48 hours of a short film being online is REALLY important in regards to helping the film find its audience.
“I am so proud of the mammoth efforts of all involved, and I’m not shy in saying that I feel like this is the best work I’ve done.”
The film has already had a successful festival run, and has now been released on Omeleto, a platform showcasing some of the best short films worldwide
Hollows was produced through the Pitch Film Fund, and was awarded best cinematography at Rhode Island International Film Festival.
