First images of major new BBC drama filmed in Bristol
The first images have been released of a major new political drama filmed and set in Bristol.
From the producers of hits like Bodyguard and Line of Duty, BBC One presents Showtrial, shot on location around the city and at Bottle Yard Studios.
This new drama will follow Talitha Campbell, played by Celine Buckens, as the estranged daughter of a wealthy property developer who’s charged with conspiring to murder a fellow university student and solicitor, Cleo Roberts (Tracy Ifeachor).
is needed now More than ever
Roberts leads Talitha’s defence, against her father’s wishes, to combat the prosecution that is using Talitha’s gender, as well as social privilege, against her.
This five part series produced at The Bottle Yard Studios follows the trial and the family of the victim, as well as the accused, in this media storm.

This gripping drama directed by Simon Heath for World Productions and Mona Qureshi is littered with dark humour and explores the way in which the legal system can be distorted by prejudice, politics as well as media scrutiny.
With eager anticipation, the nation – and most certainly Bristolians – look forward to seeing the harsh realism and stark portrayal of the legal system in the twenty-first century.
Director Zara Hayes says: “These scripts are thoroughly gripping and yet say something truly resonant about the justice system. I couldn’t be more honoured to bring them to life along with such a wonderful cast and the dream team in British TV drama.”
This timely series will make its big debut later this year on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
