Locally made Hannah More drama hits the big screen
Originally released exclusively online, the costume drama about 18th century Bristolian social reformer Hannah More generated a great deal of interest.
Shot in and around the city by Redcliffe Films, Hannah More tells the eventful story of one of the most influential women of her time: a socially conservative evangelical Christian who was jilted three times at the altar, became a successful playwright, and later founded schools for the poor and campaigned for the abolition of slavery.
Now this handsomely filmed production is finally being shown on the big screen. You can see it at the Orpheus cinema on Thursday 9 June at 7:30pm. Tickets are available here, price £5.98. A donation from each ticket sold will be made to the Ukraine appeal.
