Radical horror cinema night comes to the Cube
Bristol Radical Film Festival has teamed up with Horror Without End for a unique evening of films “displaying how scary cinema can be a force calling for radical change.”
The programme comprises seven short films running for 90 minutes. Expect explosive deportations, queer killer monsters, and a group of exploited warehouse workers experiencing an encounter with zombie knives. Also included are two shorts by Bristol-based filmmaker Melanie Light: the terrific The Herd (2014), which is billed as “the first feminist vegan horror film”, whose brilliantly simple premise is ‘what if women were treated like dairy cattle?’; and the more recent Trust (2019), a dark commentary on increasing attempts worldwide to restrict reproductive rights.
The screening will be followed by a brief panel discussion.
