Shakespeare goes Bristol
To publicise its Shakespeare on Film season, the Watershed has stepped into the breach to create an entertaining new video applying the Bard’s lines to various local landmarks. Laugh, or very possibly groan, as you find out how they’ve managed to squeeze cranes, Cabot Tower and even Windmill Hill City Farm into their two-minute short. Check it out below.
Remaining screenings in the season include Derek Jarman’s bash The Tempest with, erm, Toyah Willcox on Sunday 19 June; a rare screening of the 1917 silent Italian version of Hamlet – Amleto, no less – with a live score on Thursday 23 June; and another chance to see the 4K restoration of Kurosawa’s magnificent reworking of King Lear, Ran, on Sunday 26 June.
