WATCH: Bristol crumbles in dystopian timelapse film

By Jess Connett  Tuesday Oct 31, 2017

Filmmaker Jamie Brightmore’s latest creation takes a distinctly dark flavour. With timelapse footage filmed over the course of three years, Jamie describes the film as “a cinematic exploration of a dark future in the city of Bristol”.

Watch skies turn red, the Clifton Suspension Bridge crumble and rain pour into a roofless Great Hall in the Wills Memorial Building:

“It’s a passion project, made over three years and took hundreds of hours of timelapse photography, matte painting, visual effects, compositing, editing, and sound design,” Jamie told Bristol24/7. “I wanted to do something a little different and play around with visual effects.”

“There is also a deeper message, that essentially nothing lasts forever. We need to appreciate how good the planet is right now, as perhaps it won’t always be this way.”
