A new cultural hub for music in St Philip’s

By Karen Johnson  Monday Jul 29, 2024

There is a new cultural haven in St Philip’s and it’s gearing up to kick off an extravagant selection of artists, DJs and bands next month.

The Prospect Building on Feeder Road has joined forces with teams at Bitch, Please!, Dance Corp, DNB Allstars, FUSE, Junction 2, Let It Roll, Love Saves The Night, Metropolis and RUN to bring what they describe as an “unrivalled music programme” to Bristol.

Among the promising lineup are electronic titans Overmono and Bonobo.

No stranger to Bristol’s music scene, Joy Orbison will bring next level UK garage, house and bass music to the venue, following his appearance at this year’s Love Saves The Day festival.

A stalwart on the list, drum and bass artist Andy C – who will headline Hospitality on the Harbour at the Lloyds Amphitheatre on August 3 – is putting in an appearance at the St Philip’s warehouse. Andy was the first ever artist to headline London’s O2 Arena for a standalone show.

Also featured on the line up are Dax J, Dimitri from Paris and Horse Meat Disco.

Paul Jack and Will Harold, founders of A Man About a Dog – the team behind Prospect – said: “We’re incredibly eager to unleash this phenomenal level of talent and artistry into the Prospect Building.

“Collaborating with some of the best promoters to bring some of the biggest and most influential names in the music industry to Bristol is just the beginning of our journey for this space.

“The energy and creativity that these artists will bring are set to redefine the music scene here.”
