Amazing video released of Smoosh! in Knowle West

By Martin Booth  Friday Dec 17, 2021

One of Bristol’s cultural highlights of 2021 has been brought vividly back to life in a new video by John Minton.

Smoosh! from Paraorchestra was a musical promenade through the streets of Knowle West featuring dozens of musicians and a troop of dancers.

Smoosh! showcases how Bristol is the best in the UK when it comes to culture, collaboration and inclusivity,” said Paraorchestra chief executive Jonathan Harper.

“After weeks of meticulous planning and rehearsals in the city, being in Knowle West on September 17 was such as an extraordinary moment of us.

“For us to deliver the biggest project we’ve ever put together, bringing together a ridiculous breadth of talented local musicians to work with Paraorchestra, and do it in perfect partnership with Filwood Community Centre and Bristol Beacon, well that felt like an achievement.

“To then be welcomed in by the community of Knowle West with such warmth and positivity was exactly the reminder we all needed of the power of music and the arts in helping overcome these uncertain times. Thank you!”
