2. Idles, The Fleece
March 8
We’ve been privileged here in Bristol to host many memorable Idles shows. But this sold-out Fleece gig, in a breakthrough year which has seen them open for Foo Fighters and play festivals across Europe, felt truly pivotal.
3. Songhoy Blues, Rise Records
June 23
This year saw the end of Rise and we have them to thank for a multitude of live memories. After lost passports and missed trains, Songhoy Blues delighted their fans with an appearance which saw a grand arrival of their extremely late vocalist for the final song.
4. Slowdive, The Fleece
March 30
Legendary shoegazers Slowdive returned to the city to support their first album since 1995. Much like the record, the show lived up to all expectation in the intimate setting, proving a sensational affair for everyone lucky enough to bag a ticket.
5. Thee Oh Sees, SWX
June 4
LA garage band Thee Oh Sees have amassed a cult following throughout their long and prolific career. It’s certainly obvious that a large number of these fans reside in Bristol. John Dwyer and co brought their frantic dual drummer approach to SWX and it was nothing short of total chaos.
