Beth Gibbons, best known as one third of Bristol band Portishead, has announced the release of her debut solo album.

Titled Lives Outgrown, the album will feature ten new tracks recorded over a period of ten years. It was produced by James Ford and Beth Gibbons with additional production by Lee Harris.

The artist has also released a brand new single from the forthcoming LP, Floating On a Moment, alongside a music video directed by American multimedia and installation artist Tony Oursler, which was projected onto Clifton Suspension Bridge.

The release will be the first studio album from Gibbons following Portishead’s last album, Third, which was released in 2008.

Since then, she has released the recording of her performance of Górecki’s Symphony Of Sorrowful Songs in 2019 and was featured on Kendrick Lamar‘s Mother I Sober track from his 2022 album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.

The singer-songwriter has also announced several tour dates in the UK and Europe in May and June, including London, Manchester and Edinburgh.

Lives Outgrown will be released on May 17. Tickets go on sale on February 16 at www.bethgibbons.com and the album is available for pre-order at www.officialmerchandise.store.com
