Creative communities come together to share love of local music venues
As the live music scene remains quiet, Love Saves The Day is launching a monthly mix series inspired by the city.
Team Love, organisers of the festival, is spotlighting the artists and spaces that have helped Bristol’s music scene become the force that it is today.
The monthly series will feature musicians, promoters, venues and fans, with each Dance Local entry consisting of an interview and unique mix.
is needed now More than ever
“We’ve asked each of our featured artists to create a one hour mix that pays homage to a grassroots club or space in the city that they hold close to their hearts,” say Team Love, the organisers of Love Saves The Day, which they hope will take place in September 2021.
“Where’s the first place they’re going to party post-pandemic? Where has moulded them most as an artist? Where needs support during this difficult time for the arts?
“We’re hoping this series will help shine a light on the genuine importance many of these establishments represent.”
As well as shining a light on places in Bristol which have helped musicians explore their art, Dance Local also hopes to help the city’s grassroots venues by encouraging listeners and readers to support their favourite places in whatever way they can.
The first Dance Local sees producer and WhoCares resident OH91 create a mix of bass, grime drill and dubstep, and naming his favourites venue, the Tunnel at Motion.
