Emily Breeze drops new single ahead of UK tour
Bristol singer-songwriter Emily Breeze has dropped her new single, The Beatniks, ahead the release of her upcoming EP, Second Rodeo.
The track is inspired by Emily’s formative influence, the Beat writers, and is the first song that doesn’t contain a shred of cynicism.
Second Rodeo will be released on April 12 via Sugar Shack Records and is the follow up to the artist’s 2023 album Rapture, which saw a breakthrough in her 20-year music career thanks to the support of BBC Radio 6 Music.

On the new single, Emily tells Bristol24/7: “It’s is in part, a celebration of the Beat writers and their influence on me.
“It has strands of Everything is Holy by Allen Ginsberg and Having a Coke With You by Frank O Hara woven into it as I tried to capture the beatific state of starry eyed ecstasy in a three minute pop song.”
Emily will also embark on a UK tour later this month, kicking things off in London before a hometown show at The Fleece on February 23.
The tour will also stop at Nottingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Brighton, Bedford and Cambridge.
“I’m excited to do another UK tour almost exactly a year after our Rituals album tour,” Emily says.
“We have (almost) recovered from being imprisoned in a van and tiny dressing rooms with each other and are ready to lose our minds all over again in service stations and small venues around the UK for this run of shows.
“We will be playing songs from previous albums Rituals and Rapture as well as the whole Second Rodeo EP and can’t wait to get the set all lubed up and sparkling on stage.
“I am looking forward to all of the gigs and love playing to new crowds but hometown Bristol gigs are extra special. Bristol crowds are weird and know how to party and have supported me for 20 years which has allowed me to keep the faith and carry on.”
