Fans camp outside Ashton Gate ahead of Take That gig
More than 30 fans are camping outside Ashton Gate Stadium before the gates open on Saturday afternoon for Take That’s much-anticipated concert, with some travelling from as far as Scotland.
The band are playing on two consecutive nights in BS3 on Saturday and Sunday, having last played at Ashton Gate in 2019.
Tents have been pitched near the statue of John Atyeo on the Winterstoke Road side of the stadium that is shared by Bristol City and Bristol Bears.

Taylor Payne said she travelled for almost two days to see what will be her third live performance.
“I am so excited, it’s not getting old,” said Taylor, who only saw her first Take That gig last week.

Helen Collis from south Wales camped before Take That’s show in Swansea on Wednesday before heading over the Bristol Channel to continue camping before their shows at Ashton Gate.
Helen said she camps because “it always gets a fantastic position on the barrier. So that’s the main reason we do it.”

Another fan, Rachel Botler from Lincolnshire, admitted that she and her fellow campers were all “crazy”, with Rachel having seen Take That seven times on this tour alone.
She has lost count the number of times she has seen performances by the band – who currently consist of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen, with the original lineup also featuring Robbie Williams and Jason Orange.
“I only got my ticket last week, so it was a last minute decision, an extra one. I live in Lincolnshire so it’s 200 miles away.”
Tickets for Take That at Ashton Gate are sold out, with the stadium next hosting BS3 Live on June 22 and Kings of Leon on June 23.
