Jam Jar’s funktastic family party will be full of mirth
The Jam Jar is preparing to get silly as Nottingham’s premier genre-swerving party starters Seas of Mirth stage a special family-friendly daytime megashow on Saturday.
The wonky eight-piece deliver mind-bending psyche-infused disco-funk and prog-folk in high energy, danceworthy style.
Families with ‘an adventurous pair of ears’ are invited to what is sure to be a memorable show for both little ones and their grown ups.
is needed now More than ever
The band embrace an aquatic theme, with flamboyant costumes, giant LED sea creatures threading their way through the crowd, and a live tug-of-war contest just some of the interactive elements that make their shows less a gig and more an immersive deep dive into the band’s uniquely peculiar world.

Seas of Mirth are coming to the end of their usual busy run of summer festival shows, this year taking in Beatherder in Lancashire, Sheffield’s Tramlines, Camp Bestival, Nestival in London, Norfolk’s Maui Waui and 35-year-old midlands favourite Off the Tracks.
Their day party will welcome in all ages, with free entry for children under five and carers accompanying anyone with additional needs.
Support comes from ‘joyful music sandwich of silliness’ Simon Panrucker who, he says, is “determined to make your face smile and your bum wiggle.”

Panrucker has written music for Cartoon Network shows like Clarence, and performed on Radio 4’s Word of Mouth.
He is known for his playful celebrations of everyday life, improvising songs and raps on ‘just about anything’ to make people smile.

The gig runs from 3.30-8pm on Saturday, August 31. Early birds can enjoy clay modelling and more interactive fun, plus free jam sandwiches. Otherwise, big people are advised to bring snacks for hungry little ones.
There will be a ‘chill-out’ room available for those that need some quiet time away from the music. Find more information and buy tickets at www.headfirstbristol.co.uk/whats-on/jam-jar/sat-31-aug-seas-of-mirth-day-party-110132#e110132
