Mr Wolf’s celebrates move to St Nicholas St
After 13 years providing good, honest, sweaty fun to the people of Bristol, Mr Wolf’s is moving house.
Regular Wolfers can rest easy, because his new pad is just around the corner on St Nicholas Street and he will be hosting a huge moving-in party all weekend from June 5 to 7.
The Mr Wolf’s team have promised the same vibes, dancing, noodles, and unwavering dedication to live music – opening late nearly every night of the week.
Steph Wolff, part of the family who own and run the venue, has said that there will be a smoking/fresh air courtyard at the back of the St Nicholas Street venue, which (sadly) means that that popping outside for a fag will no longer incur impromptu street parties. There will also be brand new toilets and more seating.
Bristol street artist Cheba has designed the temporary artwork for the front of the new building which could soon find a permanent home inside.
The St Nicholas Street venue – formerly the Stock Exchange – opens for the first time on Thursday June 4, with a soft launch party featuring live music from Bristol rockers Kahai and Lion Ink, followed by DJ Alfie until late.
The real party starts on Friday, with a hefty bill of live music, followed by DJs until late. First up is indie-folk-rock group Wildflowers, headed up by Bristol-based Siddy Bennet. Then Laura Marling’s bandmate, Pete Roe brings more folk to the table, before beloved Bristol stalwarts Bobby, Jimmy and Dessy do a combined 45’s, Yes Rebels and Fortune Drive set.
Part two of the launch weekend features Bristol party band Crinkle Cuts, with their funk/ latin/ reggae/ ska mix, and acoustic mash-up group Rumdog Millionaire playing clever cuts of Bee Gees with Jay-Z, Dolly Parton with Lady Gaga and MC Hammer, or Paolo Nutini with Beyonce. And again, DJs until late.
The Mr Wolf’s team has loads more planned for the rest of the month to celebrate moving @MrWolfsBristol.
