Tuesday: Roy Ayers, Spiegeltent
The man behind hits like Everybody Loves The Sunshine and Searchin’, soul-jazz giant Ayers is one of the most sampled musicians in history. In recent years he’s collaborated with Talib Kweli, The Roots and Alicia Keys.

Tuesday: Mitsuko Uchida, St Georges
Japanese pianist Dame Mitsuko Uchida is one of the world’s most thoughtful interpreters of Mozart. Here she tackles the maestro’s Sonata in C along with a brace of works by Schumann.

Wednesday: Boris, Fleece
Prolific Japanese sludge/avant-metallers Boris have released 24 studio albums during their 20-year career. The best known of them is 2006’s Pink, which they will be playing in its entirety tonight along with the outtakes recently released as Forbidden Songs.

Wednesday: James Yorkston, The Louisiana
Fife author and songwriter Yorkston.sings gentle and beautifully written folk music.  Touring solo for the first time since 2013 his performance will include both music and readings.

Thursday: Maddy Prior & The Carnival Band, St Georges
One of the UK’s leading (and best-selling) folk singers, Maddy Prior was previously the lead singer of Steeleye Span. Here she fronts what is sure to be a lively evening of Christmas music performed on both renaissance and modern instruments.

Friday: The Blue Aeroplanes, The Fleece
Led by poet-turned-songwriter Gerard Langley, art-rock guitar squadron The Blue Aeroplanes are set to release their 14th studio album in January. Live they remain a force to be reckoned with, and boast a passionate following in their native Bristol.

Friday: London Symphony Orchestra, Colston Hall

Friday: Plume of Feathers, Stag & Hounds

Saturday: ANTS, Motion

Sunday: London Community Gospel Choir, Spiegeltent
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a good choir, and LCGC are definitely a good one. This festive concert features energetic choral arrangements of swing and R&B classics, and it will no doubt be hard to resist singing along. Support from Bristol’s very own Gospel Generation Community Choir.
