New indie club night from BBC 6 Music comes to Bristol next month
Following the success of the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival’s Indie Forever night in Manchester, the radio station has announced that the indie forever club night will be coming to Bristol.
Taking place on April 19 at Thekla, the event will welcome DJ sets from Steve Lamacq, Welsh punk quintet Panic Shack, BBC Radio 6 Music presenter Nathan Shepherd and Bristol’s own IDLES.
Following a huge hometown show at Marble Factory for their album launch party, IDLES returns to the city for the gig before embarking on a worldwide tour.

Meanwhile Panic Shack will make a return to the city for a special DJ set ahead of their live performance at Dot to Dot in May.
Steve Lamacq and Nathan Shepherd are both BBC Radio 6 Music veterans with Shepherd hosting the Indie Forever programme every Friday night while Lamacq took a step back from from presenting his drive-time show full-time last September, after 18 years.
Speaking on the live show, Nathan Shepherd said: “This will be my second time in Bristol after playing a gig at the Crofters Rights at the end of 2023 and I can’t wait to get back to the city to enjoy its diversity both culturally and musically; something that my show, Indie Forever, on 6 Music champions.
“Indie Forever is a show for lovers of indie classics and a chance to highlight the new artists breaking through. I’ve been a huge fan of IDLES for some time, so to be able to DJ alongside them in such a unique venue and in such a wonderfully vibrant place like their hometown Bristol, is truly an honour and I can’t wait to shake my tiny tooshie like a don’t give a…!”
Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday at https://www.ents24.com/bristol-events/thekla/bbc-radio-6-music-club-indie-forever/
