New single from alt-pop enigma Tlya X An
Bristol-based vocalist, producer and visual artist Tlya X An has unveiled her new single Mi Mind Uknown today.
The self-release from the boundary-pushing alt-pop artist celebrates resilience and self-discovery in the face of failure. It was inspired by a romantic counter that, though fleeting, did not result in regret.
The song is designed to be ‘a playful acknowledgment of the power of giving our all to every situation, no matter how brief, how important or even if the outcome isn’t what we expected or hoped for.’
is needed now More than ever
Tlya – AKA TXN – was described as having “totally her own sound and style” by BBC Bristol’s Harriet Robinson who selected her as one of their best of 2023.
She’s been capturing attention with magnetic live performances featuring masked backing dancers.
TXN has been played on BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music, and over the past year has supported Bristol’s dancehall punk Grove, glitch princess yeule, Japanese songwriter Haru Nemuri, and Sydney’s Haiku Hands, as well as appearing at Strange Brew for Simple Things in February this year.
The single is accompanied by a music video directed and edited by Tlya X An herself, that, she says, merges a nostalgic Y2K aesthetic with a modern DIY approach.
