By Laura Williams  Monday Oct 20, 2014

A brand new 550-capacity live music venue has opened in Bristol.

The Marble Factory, which is part of the Motion complex in St Philips, will host gigs from a range of artists – starting off with The Damned on November 5.

Other acts confirmed include Joey Bada$$ on November 24, King Creosote on January 21 and Gentleman’s Dub Club on February 13, 2015.

The venue, which will also host comedy, theatre, clubnights, festivals and exhibitions, is being managed by The MJR Group, which includes some folk who’ve worked/work with The Fleece. It was supposed to open in August, but due to delays in making the building ready, it instead opened this month.

Michael Jones, from MJR Group, said: “It’s a really special venue with a completely unique atmosphere and I can’t wait to see more great live events take place there. The City of Bristol is thriving at the moment and hopefully, working with Motion, we can add even more to it.”
