Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller to headline The Downs 2018

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Feb 27, 2018

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Paul Weller, Orbital and Goldie & The Ensemble will all be playing at a one-day festival in Bristol in September.

As well as the older Gallagher brother’s first ever headline show in Bristol, The Downs 2018 lineup also features Bristol’s own Laid Blak, The Heavy from Bath, as well as Khruangbin, Nadine Shah, Dream Wife and a DJ set from Basement Jaxx.

At the return of The Information Stage – a key part part of the festival since its inception with Massive Attack headlining three years ago – speakers will address issues affecting UK society, with live music in the evening for the first time.

Co-promoter Conal Dodds of Crosstown Concerts said: “2017 was a great year for the festival and our 2018 lineup features some of the best live acts around.

“We know there’ll be a huge amount of interest in seeing Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller live in Bristol. Noel has never headlined a show in Bristol so we are really excited to bring him and his band to the city and I think we’ve got the best line up we’ve had so far at The Downs.”

Tickets for The Downs 2018, taking place on on September 1, cost £49.50 and go on sale from Friday, March 2 with the first tickets available in person from 8am at Bristol Ticket Shop and The Love Inn; and on general release at 9am via TheBristolDowns.com, Seetickets.com, Gigantic.com, Ticketmaster.co.uk and Bristolticketshop.co.uk.

All online ticket sales will be subject to a £1 donation with funds going directly to the upkeep and maintenance of the Downs.
