The return of a unique Bristol venue

By Martin Booth  Thursday Oct 17, 2024

The bejewelled doors of a unique Bristol venue will open on November 28 “welcoming revellers, partygoers and bon vivants” for events including the tenth birthday party of Bristol24/7.

Made of wood with intricately carved panels, stained glass windows and bevelled mirrors, the Spiegeltent follows a long tradition of travelling dance halls bars and entertainment salons.

Returning to Waterfront Square near Millennium Square for its 13th year, the Spiegeltent promises “the perfect mix of finery, frippery, nonsense and nostalgia”.

This year’s festivities kick off with the Shindig Winter Gathering on November 29, with a live show from Slamboree alongsode WBBL, Madame Electrifie and more.

Bristol24/7’s tenth birthday party on November 30 features an all-Bristol lineup, with Roni Size headlining and support from Sam Binga, Addison Groove, NGAIO, Booty Bass Takeover and APH, and the winner of our women and non-binary DJ competition.

As well as a massive party, revellers will also be supporting Bristol24/7’s social and environmental projects including helping to fund our Community Reporters Scheme and Climate & Sustainability Editor.

The Allergies Funky Festive Throwdown featuring the Cuban Brothers is coming to the Spiegemtent on December 21.

After a sell-out in 2023, the Allergies are back for a full live show with Andy Cooper, James Morton and Marietta Smith, as well as the one and only Cuban Brothers.

Spiegeltent founder Steve Meadows said: “We have such a vibrant music scene in Bristol and we’re buzzing to be able to showcase and celebrate it in such splendour and style.”
