Review: Foodies Festival, Little Stoke Park – ‘A fantastic weekend’
The Foodie Festival returned to Bristol this year, not at the usual location of the Downs, instead it was held at Little Stoke Park.
The change in location definitely sparked the question as to whether the festival would be as successful as previous years, given that The Downs is a central location that many Bristolians can easily get to.
Nevertheless, the change proved that it didn’t matter where the festival was held, it was never going to stop Bristol’s foodies from attending as this year had a great turn out.
is needed now More than ever
The weekend truly felt like the start of summer, we were lucky enough to witness the sun in all its glory whilst guzzling several drinks, enjoying great food as well as listening to many artists perform, including Saturday’s headliner, Blue.
Blue appeared on stage a little after 7pm and got the attention of everyone with their performance which included popular noughties hits All Rise, One Love and Too Close.
The band appeared in good spirits and kept the crowd entertained with their two-step dance routine.
Sunday’s headliner was none other than Scouting for Girls who closed what was a fun-filled weekend.
There were free samples being handed out at the majority of stands; cheese, macaroons, cake but by the late afternoon people were feeling the effects of all the alcoholic samples you could try.
Whether that be from Stella Artois Unfiltered, UCHE, all the wine samples at Wineomania or even cocktails, the samples proved the festival to be great value for money.

The best way to recover from all those drinks was to indulge in all the food options available, the stands really did cater to all the foodies out there; from Korean to loaded fries to Italian to feta and olives to jerk chicken, the food choices really were a great variety.
There were very few empty seats at both The La Espanola Chefs Theatre and Cake and Bake Theatre throughout the day, as avid cooks and bakers enjoyed many masterclasses and tutorials from many professionals, including Bath’s own Chris Cleghorn from The Olive Tree, a Michelin star restaurant.
If you were keen enough to buy a goody bag that would have set you back £5, you can enjoy cans of Kumbucha, kimchi, olive oil, peanut butter bars as well as many vouchers and hand sanitiser (which is always appreciated when using portaloos).
Overall, the festival lived up to its expectation and accompanied by the weather it truly was a fantastic weekend and I’m sure all the foodies will be looking forward to next year’s event – question is, where will it be held?
