Siren weekend returns with noughties favourite headliner
The harbour will come alive once again this summer as Siren announces the return of its summer weekender for the fourth year running,
The first act to be announced will use the show as an opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal album which made waves in the early 2000s.
Bloc Party will take over the Amphitheatre on July 25 to perform their greatest hits, alongside tracks from Silent Alarm, an album which pushed the boundaries with its blend of rock and electronica when it was released in 2004.

Reflecting on the album Kele Okereke, lead singer and guitarist in Bloc Party, said: “When we did the Silent Alarm tour I had to listen to that record from start to finish. I haven’t really done that since it was made.
“I think that kind of energy we felt when we were performing those songs went some way into informing where we went next… That process definitely informed the music on some level.”

Siren has become known for its celebration of dance music, with its events bringing together international stars and underground legends. Previous years have featured Sean Paul, UB40, Fabio & Grooverider, Groove Armada, Sugababes and Andy C.
“We’re absolutely buzzing to have Bloc Party headline Siren,” said Tom Hoyle, Siren co-founder.
“They’ve been such a big part of so many people’s lives and having them play here at the Bristol Amphitheatre where music and culture run so deep – feels massive! Bloc Party on the Harbourside, with that incredible energy and the sun setting in the background, is going to be unforgettable.”
