The Jam Jar announces new CIC with flagship project

By Issy Packer  Monday Feb 12, 2024

The team behind The Jam Jar have announced the formation of Jam Nice CIC, a new not-for-profit dedicated to benefiting live music audiences.

Jam Nice seeks to do this by supporting the development of musicians, and programming diverse live music at venues across the city.

Aside from a catalogue of live shows, Jam Nice CIC has been granted funding from Arts Council England to bring together artists from the UK and Ghana to record, produce and release new content.

Jam Nice is the lead partner in this project, working in collaboration with Arts La’Olam, K.O.G, producer Sam Jones, Africa Night Fever and Volta 45 among others.

The CIC aims to create a ‘cultural bridge‘ between the UK and Ghana, and hopes to establish strong partnerships for future collaborative works.

Of the launch, Joel Williams, director and co-founder of The Jam Jar and Jam Nice CIC said: “Our debut project, ‘Ghana Music Special’ is very close to my heart – for the last five years we have been representing Ghanaian musicians in Bristol, whilst visiting Ghana as often as possible.

“To receive funding to visit the country & record some of the musicians I’ve met over the years is a full circle moment for me.”
