Venue calls Snap Election Party – with free pints
An independent music venue is hosting an election party complete with live coverage, trad jazz and free drinks for voters.
The Jam Jar, in St Judes, is bringing in extra sofas for people to settle down and watch the results coming in on Thursday night.
A pile of samosas will be on hand for long haulers at the venue’s Snap Election Party which runs from 10pm to ‘the wee hours’. The venue’s license has been extended to 10am in anticipation of a real nail-biter.
is needed now More than ever

Jam Jar features a dynamic programme of global artists and eclectic music, such as renowned boundary-breaking Moroccan Gnawa group Bab L’Bluz
The Jam Jar, a venue known for its global music lineup which is this year collaborating with Womad and Valley Fest, has teamed up with three local breweries to encourage people to vote.
Party-goers producing a photo of themselves at the polling station will receive a free pint, courtesy of Wiper and True, Lost and Grounded and New Bristol Brewery.
“This collaboration represents four local independents coming together and doing all they can to encourage the people of Bristol to exercise their democratic right to vote,” said Hadie Abido, cofounder and director.
“This will be the fourth time we’ve screened a general election. We’re pleased to offer an incentive to those participating in the election with the support of some of our favourite breweries.
“Why not join us in watching how things unfold?!”
