Bristol Beacon to host the Blue Man Group
Running as part of a world tour of their show Bluevolution – coming to UK shores for the first time – Bristol Beacon will be hosting eight performances from the Blue Man Group, starting on October 16.
Now a global sensation featuring multiple casts and concurrent productions, the history of the Group stretches back over 30 years.
They are recognised around the world for their ethereal appearance, teaming fairly utilitarian black clothing with bald and entirely blue head, face and hands.

Although not easy to define, every ‘blue man’ tends to showcase a blend of non-verbal acting, mime, performance art, clowning, comedy and music.
In their words: “The character has strong roots in the downtown New York performance art scene as well as significant nods to vaudeville and Le Coq’s principles of playfulness, togetherness and openness”.
