Closer Each Day returns for tenth season
Closer Each Day, the Wardrobe Theatre’s home-grown, live fortnightly soap opera returns for its tenth season from Tuesday, September 8, at its new home (for one season, prior to the Wardrobe’s move to Old Market) at Clifton’s Bristol Improv Theatre.
Unplanned, unscripted and unconventional, Closer Each Day is a live, spontaneous and unique theatrical experience performed fortnightly by the Closer Each Day Company. The cult show is created on the spot by an array of local performers including stars of the Wardrobe’s popular Christmas shows including Muppits Die Hard. Strapline: “Think Twin Peaks meets League of Gentlemen via Sunset Beach: a soap opera full of romance, fights, sci-fi and enough plot twists to melt your face.”
The entirely improvised show has now been running for over four years and some 80 episodes, following one continuing storyline. Before every live performance the audience is supplied with an info sheet and the cast recaps the story so far.
Season 10 of Closer Each Day: The Improvised Soap Opera will take place every other Tuesday at Bristol Improv Theatre (a.k.a. The Polish Club) in Clifton. All shows 8pm, run time 60 minutes. Suitable for 14yrs+.
£5 for show – or £24 for the eight-week season. For more info, visit www.closereachday.co.uk. To book tickets, visit improvtheatre.net/calendar/closer-each-day-the-improvised-soap-opera-2015-09-08
