Cult improvised soap ‘Closer Each Day’ approaches its 250th episode
Bristol’s beloved unscripted soap – the longest running improvised story in the world – is now approaching its historic 250th episode.
Closer Each Day is currently in its 13th year and its 30th season, taking place on alternate Mondays at The Wardrobe Theatre.
Despite building up a loyal following, the show is always keen to welcome new audience members, who are invited to familiarise themselves with characters and context though regularly updated ‘what happened last episode?’ catchups.

Closer Each Day 200th episode
As to what people can expect from episode 250, company co-director Lindsey Garwood is confident that it will be a memorable night.
“At our last show, the story developed to a point we now know that the 250th episode will be set at the wedding of long-term on/off lovers Simpkins (full name Reginald Simpkins III) and Constance Sugar,” she reveals.

“We knew we wanted the 250th episode to be in a world like its usual setting of Newtown, but not quite the same, and now we know where it will be!
“There will be comedy and drama galore, along with wedding hats. And the party atmosphere will continue after the show – so whether you are a regular fan or a newcomer coming for the first time, this is definitely a special episode of this Bristol phenomenon that you do not want to miss.”
