Simon Mole and Gecko’s dinosaur show to feature ‘Jurassic classics’
Simon Mole is a children’s writer, performer and the ambassador for National Poetry Day, who has amassed years of experience in harnessing the power of poetry to inspire children and young people, both in person and online.
He has now brought his fourth book, A First Book of Dinosaurs, to life, in an interactive Arts Council England-funded stage adaptation in which he is joined by ‘singer-storyteller’ and TikTok sensation, Gecko.
Now on tour, the show will be visiting The Wardrobe Theatre on February 12, ideally timed for families seeking half term entertainment.

“It’s been so exciting to turn by book of poems into a live performance,” says Mole. “As a dad, and a massive dinosaur fan, I can’t wait to take this show on the road.
“It would make me very happy if we can introduce a few young dino fans to poetry, and the fun they can have playing with words.”
The production will include poems, raps, songs and the answers to a truck full of fun questions about these ever-popular prehistoric creatures.
“One thing I find exciting,” reveals Gecko, “is that the story of the dinosaurs is a continually evolving one. “We know so much more about dinosaurs than we did when I was a kid and who knows if one of the children watching this show might grow up to discover the next puzzle piece of the story!”
The Great Big Dinosaur Show (age recommendation 4-11) is at The Wardrobe Theatre on February 12 at 2pm. Tickets are available at www.thewardrobetheatre.com.
