Theatre and Comedy picks: November 27-December 3 2017

Things start turning distinctly festive in theatreland this week, with the first clutch of Christmas shows dropping like gilded baubles into the listings.

Highlights among the early starters include Reservoir Cats, the latest in the Wardrobe Theatre’s brilliant annual series of devised comedy mash-ups of much-loved works from stage and screen; Emma Rice’s The Little Matchgirl and Other Tales at Bristol Old Vic (pictured above); and Beauty and the Beast, Tobacco Factory Theatres’ co-production with the excellent New International Encounter.

Festive theatre is by no means your option this week, though. There’s a raft of top stand-up comedy across the week, including visits from top circuit comics/performers Nathan Caton, Jarred Christmas and Susan Harrison and returns from much-loved regular nights including Smoke and Mirrors’ A Bunch of Japes and The Lazy Dog’s How Lazy is He?.

Visit the Theatre and Comedy listings for full details.
