Celebrating unity and diversity: the Bristol women of the world
For over a decade, the Diverse Artists Network, continuing the spirit of Tribe of Doris, has actively engaged women in enriching discussions, book and clothing exchanges, and a plethora of creative activities.
Their mission originated from a desire to create a welcoming space for women from varied cultural backgrounds to connect, especially those who might find it challenging to meet others outside of professional environments.
In response to the global violence against women, their events cultivate a sense of solidarity, strength and unity. “We are particularly inspired by the story of Joyti from Delhi, which has significantly influenced our project’s identity,” they say, “leading to its renown as ‘The Bristol WOW (Women of the World) Factor’.”
