Bee and Pollination Festival 2017 comes to Botanic Garden
Organisers of the Bee and Pollination Festival at the University of Bristol Botanic Gardens promise “a paradise for honey lovers” with its many opportunities for tasting and guessing the origins of different types of honey from around the world.
During the festival from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, September 2 and 3, there will be displays of honey and bee products, a live hive giving an insight into the workings of the honey-bee, along with talks and displays on the importance and pleasure of keeping bees.
Other exhibitors include the University Of Bristol School Of Biological Sciences, Mad Apple Cider, Avon Wildlife Trust and the Avon Organic Group, Kelvin Bush Orchids, Neal’s Yard Remedies, nurseries selling insect-friendly plants, wildlife charities and botanical artists.

Talks and demonstrations will range from beekeeping techniques and the workings of a live hive, to learning how to build insect hotels, make bee head masks and weave willow sculptures.
Entrance is £6 (free to Friends, children, University staff and students) and includes tours of the garden and glasshouses.
The University of Bristol Botanic Garden is located on Stoke Park Road in Stoke Bishop, opposite Churchill hall of residence.
