Bristol Pride Parade 2019 – in photos
With a record number of participants and a new route, this year’s Bristol Pride Parade was both a joy to watch and great fun to partake in. Photographer Jack Joseph captured some of the best moments:
The parade weaved throughout the city centre
Dancers at the front of the parade
Hidayah are an organisation for LGBTQ+ Muslims with a newly-formed group in Bristol
Members of the LGBTQ+ community, including Sharifa Whitney James from Kiki Bristol, dance to the music
Drummers accompanied the parade
Lord mayor Jos Clark and her companion walked at the front of the parade
Avon Fire and Rescue led the parade, followed by a fire engine playing LGBTQ+ anthems
Pride is a party, but also a protest
In recent years, the Home Office has refused some asylum claims on the basis of not believing the applicants genuinely identify as LGBTQIA+

Dancing and singing with pride
A member of the Sisters of the Blue Moon, the Bristol branch of the Order of Perpetual Indulgence
The parade ended in Millennium Square
